Dan Chaves, D.C.

I grew up on a dairy farm just north of the twin cities in Forest Lake MN. After high school I assisted my dad with his company by driving truck. I went on to school and become a diesel mechanic. I have also worked as material handler for a few years. I then went back to school and became a certified maintenance technician. While I enjoyed every opportunity I was granted, I felt more of a need to help people.

I then went on to St Mary’s University where I graduated with Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. I then continued my education and received my Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN. I have learned many different styles and techniques of chiropractic adjusting. I will be using this multi-disciplinary approach to give you the best possible care that is tailored to you the patient.

I am continuing my education to stay current with all the new techniques being developed. I may apply some of these new techniques while maintaining a solid foundation to continue to provide the best possible care.

I will provide quality care and education to my patients to give everyone the best possible care.

When I am not in the office, I enjoy the outdoors: anything from camping, boating, to riding my motorcycle.

amanda Smith, d.C.

I graduated from UW-River Falls with a Bachelor's of Science Degree. I then attended Northwestern Health Sciences University where I received my Doctorate in Chiropractic. Studies there included: anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, cardiology, pediatrics, obstetrics, dermatology, radiology, with an emphasis on chiropractic technique.

I also received training in multiple chiropractic techniques including Activator, Graston, Applied Kinesiology, Cranial-Sacral, Posture Analysis, Physiotherapy, and others. I have always had an interest in the more natural ways of health and healing. Being a chiropractor with a wide variety of skills and knowledge allows me the freedom to help people naturally.

It is wonderful to be able to help people with their health, as well as helping them understand their bodies and giving them the knowledge and tools to help them live happy and healthy lives. I believe that with help from chiropractic care and making good health choices, the body can do what it needs to heal and function properly.

I was born and raised in a small rural town in southeastern Wisconsin. While I enjoyed growing up in a small town, after moving to Minnesota for chiropractic school, I discovered that I also really enjoy living in the North Metro. There are many of opportunities here and plenty of activities to choose from.

When not at Open Heart Chiropractic, I am running my own business, where I practice Animal Chiropractic. Animals have a nervous system and musculoskeletal system like we do, so they need help with their health as well. As an Animal Chiropractor I work mostly with dogs, horses, and cats, but I am happy to work with other animals that need help with chiropractic care.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you with your health care needs. I am here to help you in any way I can, and to answer any questions you may have. Please come in to say ‘Hi’ and introduce yourself!

Colbie Fleming, Massage Therapist.

Hi, I’m Colbie, a Licensed Massage Therapist with a deep passion for helping people feel more at home in their bodies. Over the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of working with clients from all walks of life, supporting their wellness journeys through massage therapy that’s both intuitive and intentional.

I’m trained in a variety of modalities, including Swedish, neuromuscular, deep tissue, sports massage, cupping, and trigger point therapy. Every session I offer is customized to your needs, whether you're working through chronic tension, recovering from an injury, or simply needing a space to relax and recharge.

What I love most about this work is creating a calm and supportive environment where people can fully let go and begin to heal, physically, mentally, and emotionally. I truly believe that massage isn’t just about treating symptoms, but about nurturing the whole person.

When I’m not in the treatment room, you can usually find me continuing my education, trying out new wellness practices, spending time in nature, or snuggled up with my partner and cats. I’m so grateful to be part of the team at Open Heart Chiropractic, and I look forward to supporting you on your path to feeling your best alongside our other practitioners!
